Tips For Flips
A Method of Keeping Ammo "Close-At-hand" for Fast Reloading and Shooting.

One of the most effective ways of keeping ammunition where you can get to it easily and reload quickly is to hold it in your pouch hand. During the procedure of drawing and releasing, only your thumb and forefinger are involved, leaving 3 fingers and the palm of your hand free to hold ammunition. It is possible to hold between 5 and 20 rounds of ammunition (depending on the size of the ammo and your hand). After each shot it is very easy to move another round of ammo up to your thumb and forefinger to reloading.

It will take some practice to master this style of holding ammo, but you will find it worth the time and trouble. Start out with just a few rounds (2-5) in your hand: and, as you become comfortable with this, increase the number.

There are reports of people who hold extra rounds of ammunition in their mouths. While I don't recommend this method, I also understand that bait can be held in the same place to keep it warm while ice-fishing.
